OUR SQUADS

At Henley Rowing Club we really do try to provide rowing for everybody have structured our squad system to deliver this. Choose one which you think fits in best for you depending on your age, experience, ability to train and desire to compete.

Juniors Men

Our junior squads are organised according to school age ie J13s = School Y8. In recent years through the efforts of our athletes and coaches, Henley’s junior mens squad has come to be recognised as a high performance centre of excellence for boys’ rowing, especially sculling.

Juniors Women

Our junior squads are organised according to school age ie J13s = School Y8. Training is land based in the week during the winter season and water based at weekends. The Junior Women’s squad have had huge success over many years, both nationally and internationally and through all age groups.

Senior Squad

The Senior squad (men and women) trains 6 days a week (Fridays off) but offer flexibility in training sessions to fit with your work/home life commitments. Squad training times are Monday-Thursday from 6pm and 7.20 and 9.30 at the weekend but there are plenty of opportunities to row and train at other times of the day. The Senior squad has a superb coaching programme, which is designed to support organic growth in the squad whilst also tailoring itself to personal goals set by athletes.

Masters

We have a strong and growing Masters squad of experienced rowers who compete at national and international level and less experienced rowers who have already achieved some success and keen to build on this.
